Claude Como presents Aquaponie #PDW2025
Live a unique sensory experience at Paris Design Week 2025 with Balsan and artist Claude Como!
For Paris Design Week, the Paris showroom of Balsan has opened its doors to #Aquaponie, an immersive scenography designed by visual artist Claude Como. Inspired by the virtuous circle of aquaponics, where plants and organisms coexist in symbiosis, this installation transforms carpet into a living and poetic ground, inviting visitors to slow down, contemplate, and experience a vibrant textile landscape.
On the floor, colorful water lilies from the Funky Fungus universe unfold in deep greens with touches of neon yellow, reminiscent of the ripples of mysterious water. Some emerge in relief, while on the walls, the Folles grimpantes rise like textile vines, infusing the space with organic vitality. In resonance, the pictorial series Arrières pensées establishes a sensitive dialogue between painting and textile material.
Recognized both in France and internationally, Claude Como has been developing for more than 30 years a multifaceted body of work combining painting, sculpture, ceramics, resin, and, since 2019, artisanal tufting. Her creations, infused with the energy of the living world, take the form of sensual and colorful shapes that evoke dreamlike landscapes.
This approach resonates with the passion of Balsan, a French creator of textile flooring and holder of the Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant (Living Heritage Company) label. A specialist in industrial tufting, Balsan explores materials, colors, and textures to reinvent the flooring experience.
Aquaponie thus becomes the ground for a fruitful encounter between craftsmanship and industry, imagination and innovation.
In summary, a unique experience designed to awaken the senses and spark curiosity! Discover it in images!
