> Visitez la Cité

Context:
- The Cité Internationale de la Bande Dessinée et de l'Image (City of the image and cartoon) is a public establishment of cultural cooperation, spread across 3 sites: the Maison des Auteur (the house of authors), the Musée de la bande dessinée (the cartoon museum) and the Cinéma de la Cité (the City Cinema),
- Fit-out and opening of the Cinéma de la Cité as a result of the fact that at present, moving and non-moving images are placed side by side to create a dialogue, moving the viewer through images of cartoon pages to darkened viewing rooms,
- The Nemo and Laloux rooms have a total surface area of 1300 m², making them a form of genuine “Festival Hall” for the town of Angoulême, which hosts several festivals linked to the visual image,
- For Cinephiles' enjoyment, these rooms have to be set up as genuinely acoustically-enclosed spaces.
Balsan recommend's:
- Choice of patterns relating to the overall Design Concept: designs specially conceived for cinemas,
- Carpet quality to ensure comfortable walking and good acoustics when the spaces are being used as screening rooms,
- Use of standard products allowing good budgetary value for money.
