Eco-design of Textile Flooring

Eco-design is the cornerstone of our environmental strategy. Starting in the design phase, our teams incorporate environmental performance criteria to offer sustainable, attractive, and high-performance flooring solutions.

We prioritize the use of recycled and recyclable materials to reduce the carbon footprint of our carpets and limit the extraction of virgin resources.

Our eco-design initiatives:

- Use of recycled yarns with a low carbon footprint (Econyl®, Thrive Matter®)

- Development of bitumen-free textile tiles

- Underlayments containing up to 100% recycled materials

- Measuring environmental impact via individual FDES and EPDs

- Reducing the environmental impact of packaging:

• 80% made from recycled materials

• 100% recyclable

• Testing the transport of tiles without packaging

The result? Nearly 500 Balsan products are now low-carbon carpets.
