Suitable for small rooms only, free-floating carpet can be laid in 6 stages, all detailed by Balsan.

Quick, easy and economical, free-floating carpet is recommended if you have opted for thick carpet. Read through Balsan's completion guide:
Step 1: Make sure the ground is flat and clean.
Step 2: Roll the carpet out in the room, making sure that it comes up about 5 cm along the skirting boards.
Step 3: Trim the carpet using a cutting tool, leaving the required excess along the skirting boards. Make sure that the length of the carpet strip is the same length as the room.
Step 4: Remove any excess but keep a few extra centimetres just in case.
Step 5: Cut the corners into Vs so your carpet follows the line drawn by your skirting boards.
Step 6: You can now trim away the 5 cm of carpet left at the beginning. You have now finished laying your carpet.
