Hotel: what periodic cleaning techniques should you use?
Focus on two efficient processes: absorbent powder and rotocleaner.
Method: cleaning your carpet with absorbent powder
To delay a big spring clean in your hotel you can opt for other methods, as long as they are conducted appropriately. Balsan helps you figure out the mysteries of absorbent powder cleaning, step by step:
Step 1: Spray on a pre-stain removal product within a maximum radius of 5 to 10 m², focusing on the dirtiest areas.
Step 2: Spread the powder in as thin a layer as possible.
Step 3: Let the powder soak right into the carpet using a scrubbing brush or powder brush.
Step 4: Leave to act.
Step 5: Remove the powder from the carpet using a brush vacuum cleaner.
Repeat the operation several times if necessary with criss-cross movements. Beforehand, remember to change the brush's hardness to suit the pile's resistance.
Please note: Wool loop pile carpets should not be used on wool loop pile carpets.
The rotocleaner or spray cleaning
As an alternative to absorbent powder cleaning, the rotocleaner can be used for preliminary treatment of isolated areas on the carpet. Instructions for use:
Step 1: Remove all visible dust with a brush vacuum cleaner.
Step 2: Treat any stains.
Step 3: Spray on a detergent solution.
Step 4: Find the brush hardness that corresponds to the composition of the carpet to be cleaned. We recommend using a soft brush.
Step 5: Fill the rotocleaner's tank up with water.
Step 6: Brush and spray the carpet at the same time.
Step 7 (optional): To reduce drying time and minimise marks, go over the carpet again without spraying it to recover any residue.
Step 8: Clean out the machine's recovery tank where the detergent solution and dirt have been collected.
